This past week has been filled with hexies, hexies and more hexies all in blues and greys…a mini quilt for my Schnitzel & Boo swap partner.
This is the 3rd mini quilt swap I’ve participated in and I just might be addicted to mini swaps. My partner stated she likes blue and grey and prefers clean and crisp design. When I saw the Modern Hexie Tutorial by Modern Handcraft, I knew it was the perfect quilt to make for my partner. I pulled together all my blue, grey, and teal solids along with a few pieces from Carolyn Friedlander’s Architextures and Doe. I debated for quite some time on the binding until I finally pulled a bit of Field Day by Alison Glass and knew it was the perfect fit.
I’m pretty pleased with how it came out and hope my partner likes it as well.
See those Clover Wonder Clips holding the binding in place? Well guess what? They now come in assorted colors (what?) and I just got 50-piece packs in stock, listed here.
If you haven’t used Wonder Clips, you really need to give them a try. They make binding so easy. They are also great for holding together thick seams, zippers, pouches, and bags. No more pin pricked fingers. You’d be amazed what you can use Wonder Clips for.
Also just in…
V & Co’s new line Color Theory. The colors are so fresh and pretty, and the prints play so nicely together. They are also perfect blenders and will work beautifully with fabrics already in your stash. You can find yardage of these 20 prints here
It’s been busy behind the scenes here at Gotcha Covered Quilting. Lots of projects, lots of new fabrics, lots of cutting and packing
Until next time…
